We are offering students the opportunity to participate in this proposed activity. As this is an enrichment activity, we are asking parent/guardians for a voluntary contribution of £14.00 to cover the cost of the trip once a place has been allocated. Without contributions the trip will not go ahead.
The activities on this trip will include a range of interactive decision making workshops on current rural issues with a number of characters – a farmer, conservationist, builder and property developer. The party will leave from the North Site bus bay at 8.45 am and is expected to return at 3.05 pm.
A risk assessment has been carried out for this activity and insurance will be covered by the Governments’ Risk Protection Arrangements for Academy Trusts. Further details are available on request.
The school codes of conduct will apply throughout the visit and the highest standards of behaviour will be expected at all times. Clothing appropriate to the weather should be worn – not school uniform. As most activities are outside, sensible, comfortable footwear is a must. A lunch can be provided for those who receive a free school meal.
An emergency contact system will be established and your point of contact will be the school office. For these purposes, it is vital that contact details are available for you during the period of the trip.
Should you wish your son/daughter to participate in this activity, please complete and return the reply slip below to register your child’s interest. Please ask students to return the reply slip to the Geography office or your child’s Geography teacher before Thursday 10 May 2108. There will be a maximum of 90 places. If the trip is oversubscribed, a draw will take place on Friday 11 May 2018. Parents will then be informed via letter and payment will then need to be made via ParentPay or at the Student Payment Point.
As party leader, I will be happy to answer any further questions you may have.
