Between October 2013 and July 2014, Altair House raised money through fun ways such as cake bakes and events on the school All Weather Pitch. Spare change was also donated by students and staff across the school in the campaign, ‘Chuck it in the Bucket!’ Students worked tirelessly in school to raise as much money as possible for the charity. Near the end of the one year campaign, students and staff donated more and more, getting closer and closer to that large £1,000 figure. On the last day of the 2013–2014 academic year, students and teachers received the much wanted confirmation that the £1,000 mark had been smashed. On Wednesday 12 November, Teenage Cancer Trust collected the cheque for £1,035.36 in a House assembly.
Following the success of last year’s fundraising, wristbands and pin badges in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust are now available in the South Site Reception and the Learning Resource Centre. We suggest a donation of £1 per item.
