Local History Month – Rosie Plaques

As part of our local history unit the students have been learning about significant women who have shaped our local past.  Sadly, Norfolk women have often been overlooked and undertaught.  In recent years however, a movement called ‘Rosie Plaques’ has appeared in Norwich, celebrating local heroines in an attempt to redress the blue plaques in Norwich which were predominantly remembering men.  In lessons this week, our Year 7 students have been creating their own ‘Rosie Plaques’ based on local women and displaying them on the department walls and their creativity and hard work has been inspiring.  Great work Year 7.
