Business and Community Links
Thorpe St Andrew School has a tradition of strong community links and these have been strengthened in recent years following the attainment of both Sports College and Technology College specialist status. The school’s facilities, including its all-weather sports pitch, are used widely by members of the community and we are keen for that programme to be extended. Details of the available facilities can be checked out, and bookings made, by contacting the school’s Lettings Officer on 01603 497777.
We have developed a number of education/business partnerships in recent years that have made a valuable contribution to the school curriculum and, in many cases, provided sponsorship for key projects. We are very grateful to those companies that support the school, and the highlight of this programme was the winning of the EDP Business Award in 2004 for the Best Industry/Education Link for our partnership with the Oaklands Hotel in Thorpe St Andrew.
Thorpe St Andrew School operates a number of innovative Reward Schemes that recognise special effort and high achievement by our students. These serve as a great encouragement for our students, but the introduction of the programme has only been possible due to the generous sponsorship offered by local businesses.
We are committed to achieving high attendance levels by our students as we believe that this is a prerequisite of learning. We reward good attendance and are very grateful for the sponsorship we receive from the Oaklands Hotel that makes this possible.
We also operate reward schemes that recognise good behaviour, high standards of work, making a contribution to the wider school community, etc. This is made possible as a result of the generous sponsorship we receive from the Broadland Business Park, the Wagamamas international restaurant chain and the Royal Bank of Scotland under their ‘One Account‘ brand.
We have recently opened a new Technology Excellence Centre and are seeking sponsorship to enable us to purchase some of the specialist machines required. This will enable our students to develop their engineering skills in particular, and we hope that businesses and other organisations will be willing to offer a degree of support.
Full details of the sponsorship opportunities available can be obtained by contacting Daren Goffin, the school’s Director of Finance, on telephone number 01603 497724 or via E-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org.
