The Certificate in Financial Education (CeFE) is a new Level 2 qualification which has been designed and developed by The London Institute of Banking & Finance.
CeFE introduces students to the impact of finance on the economy and encourages them to consider how this can affect business and the individual. Through this it develops knowledge and a valuable range of applied and transferable skills and provides a foundation for further study in business and finance-related disciplines.
The content covered, and skills developed, within the qualification ensure that it is a valuable part of a broad programme of study at Key Stage 5, particularly complementing Mathematics, Economics, Politics and Business Studies. The key objective of the course is to provide students with the skills and knowledge to manage their money well and make sound financial decisions.
There are three mandatory units which are assessed under examination conditions. Unit 1 and Unit 2 papers are completed online through a mixture of both multiple choice and short answer questions: Unit 3 is based on a pre-release case study and is assessed through a written paper.
