Jack Guzewich and Ben Thornley finished 14th in the world in this week’s World Maths Day event organised by the Jaguar Maths in Motion Challenge. They completed their lap of the Monaco Grand Prix track in 73.2 seconds, just 4 seconds behind the winning car.
30 students from 7MaN1 took part in the race, with 10 teams finishing in the top 100, competing against students from all round the world.
Jaguar Maths is an online challenge in which students design and drive their own racing car to compete against other students. To succeed they must accurately analyse the circuit features, design a car to meet the demands of the track, and calculate the speed they can drive at for each feature.
