Year 10 students are currently completing their first controlled assessment which involves studying a child they know out of school. On Thursday 28 November 2013 we welcomed five 0-3 year olds into our class. This was an opportunity for the Year 10 students to compare their child’s learning and development to another child of a similar age (which is a requirement for the A grade criteria).
The classroom was very busy and noisy with 23 Year 10 students, five children, four parents and five Year 13 BTEC National Diploma Child Care students. A special well done must go to Marteen Vinall, Sarah Adams, Lydia Rea, Lucy Mills, Ella Marshall for participating in the children’s play and communicating with the parents to enhance their knowledge of children.
A very big thank you to the Year 13 Child Care students who demonstrated their understanding from their Level 3 course and their ability to interact with children gained from their work placements (Kirsty Lofty, Jade Amos, Marie Godfrey, Lucy Curston & Jade Josh). All five of these students proved they are ready to qualify as Early Years Educators in the next few months.
