Nathan Shoesmith, Year 12 was awarded Young Person Of The Year at the Broadland Community Awards 2017. The awards ceremony was held at The Space in Norwich, to celebrate those in the community who go above and beyond to improve the lives of others.
Nathan was described as ‘a familiar face in the community’ and one who ‘is always busy helping others from extensive charity work through to sports coaching.’ The award recognised Nathan’s fundraising projects, including raising £2,145.17 for the East Anglian Air Ambulance in 2017. Nathan’s other commitments to the community were also highlighted: ‘Nathan helps teach young children in ‘Learn To Swim’ and has visited primary schools to talk to young people and listen to their ideas.’ It was also said that Nathan was ‘an inspiration across the county. His tireless efforts, organisation and positivity have had such a positive impact on so many.’
